Product Description
Package V6-KS
The V6-KS package offers three measuring technologies to detect and analyze moisture conditions in concrete before installing and inspecting floor coverings and coatings.
- Pinless mode: Allows fast and easy moisture scans, dual-depth ¼ and ¾ for wood and concrete.
- Pin mode: Measures concrete with E16 up to 7″ deep. Add electrodes E14 and E12 for pin mode to measure wood.
- In-situ probe testing: Included are accessories for in-situ moisture testing of concrete slabs.
- Thermo-hygrometer: The VersaTec can be used as a precision, fast-acting thermo-hygrometer with RH BluePeg probe and RH adapter (incl. in Package V6-KS).
The package V6-KS consists of:
- Ligno-VersaTec moisture meter
- Electrode E16 with cable and EL pins 7″
- Case S
.RH in-situ / Hygrometer parts - 1 or 5 or 10 BluePeg Probes (Choose an Option)
- RH Adapter
- 10 Sleeves with caps
- RH-Cable for in-situ probes
- RH-Brush
- RH Vacuum attachment
The Ligno-VersaTec is the most advanced, most versatile meter among Lignomat’s pin-pinless-RH moisture meters. Features are a wide moisture range for pin and pinless mode. More than 170 correction settings for measuring domestic and tropical wood species, OSB and other panel products, bamboo, gypsum and different types of wall boards. Relative scales are included for concrete, cementitious materials, plastics, insulation…
The meter by itself provides for dual-depth pinless measurements. Connectors for pin electrodes and RH cables or RH adapter are installed in the top of the meter.
– BNC connector for electrode cables and in-kiln, remote cables with Adapter H
– 3.5mm stereo jack to connect RH cable or RH adapter.
Two measuring plates for pinless, dual-depth mode are mounted on the back of the meter.
Pinless Measurements
The Ligno-VersaTec meter allows fast and easy measuring of flat materials 1/4″ and 3/4″ deep. Percent values are indicated for wood, OSB and other panel products, engineered floors, bamboo and drywall. Relative scales are for concrete and other materials.
If the material is not flat, or measurements should reach deeper or you need to find differences between surface and core moisture, the Electrodes E16 and E12, E14 are used to accomplish those tasks.
Pin Measurements
Concrete Electrode E16 consists of 2 separate posts each 3″ long. The separate posts are easier to insert into hard materials such as concrete and allow spacing the posts further apart than with other electrodes. Pre-drilling holes may be necessary to reach the desired measuring depth.
Using a pin meter with electrode E16 gives immediate results when evaluating concrete. The measurements can show areas of high and low moisture up to 7″ deep with EL pins, either when measuring different locations or when measuring at different depth levels. However, it cannot replace the in-situ probe test or the Calcium-Chloride test which allow to determine, if a wood floor or other resilient floor covering can be installed.
Measurements obtained from concrete or cementitious materials are not true percent values. They can only be used as reference numbers or comparative readings. Comparative measurements become meaningful, when a dry sample piece of the material is available. All measurements can then be compared to readings obtained from the dry sample.
We recommend a distance of 4.5″ between the posts for measuring cement and cementitious materials. Being able to change the distance between the pins is another advantage of the two-posts electrode E16.
Electrode E16, BNC-E16 cable and 1 pair EC pins and the 1 pair EL pins 7″ deep are included in package V6-KS.
In-situ probe testing of concrete
The V6-KS package contains accessories needed for RH testing: 1 RH Bluepeg probe (option 5 or 10 RH probes), 10 sleeves with caps, 1 RH-CC cable, 1 vacuum attachment and 1 brush (drill bit is not included). Lignomat’s RH BluePeg system complies with the latest F2170 standard.
After drilling, cleaning and setting the sleeve, the RH BluePeg probe easily drops into the sleeve. The cap fits perfectly and is as flat as can be. The cable connection is provided by a simple, fail-proof 3.5mm stereo plug. No pin alignment of the cable needs to be fitted and no set-up procedure for the meter is necessary. The meter switches into RH mode as soon as a RH cable or adapter is connected. Plug in and read, that’s what our customers like.
The display shows the measured value and the RH Probe number. The RH probe number is an individual number 1-999 to allow keeping track of probe location during testing, measurements and probe performance.

Thermo-Hygrometer
To use Ligno-VersaTec as thermo-hygrometer, first plug the RH Adapter into the RH BluePeg probe, next the RH Adapter can be plugged into the stereo connector at the top of the meter. Instead of using the Adapter RH, the 6 ft RH-CC cable included in the package can be used for remote measurements (any stereo cable could be used).
As soon as the connection is established, the Ligno-VersaTec is in RH mode. When the READ button is depressed, the meter indicates relative humidity. The up or down keys allow recalling the values for ambient Temperature, Dew Point Temperature and Grains Per Pound.
Specifications RH BluePeg: +/-2% (10-90%), +/-3% below 10%, above 90%
T: +/- 0.5°F (32-120°F) , +/- 1°F (5-32°F and 120-160°F) Response time 8 sec.
Resolution for RH and T: 0.1% and 0.1°.
Options for measuring wood moisture:
- Add slide-hammer electrode E12 for wood and structural lumber up to 2″.
- Add inspection electrode E14-V for assessing moisture conditions in walls, ceilings, roofs.
Electrode E12 is added for measuring wood and other relatively hard materials up to 2″ deep. The action of the slide hammer allows inserting and removing the pins up to 2″ deep. This is helpful, when measuring subfloors through floor planks, reaching structural lumber behind drywall or simply measuring thicker wood or looking for differences between surface and core moisture.
Electrode E14-V is added for inspection jobs, where drywall and other relatively soft materials can be measured with EG pins 3/4″ deep and EL pins 7″ deep (predrilling holes may be necessary). Because of the sturdiness of the E14-V / EG pins can be hammered into very hard wood up to 1/2″ deep, as well as strand bamboo, hard panel products and cementitious materials. Since there is no mechanism to extract the pins, the measuring depth in hard materials should not exceed 1/2″.
