Package BW-KS
The BW-KS package allows for measuring the three parameters that is needed for a flooring installer moisture meter, which need to be kept within close limits for a successful floor covering installation: Moisture of the floor, relative humidity in the vicinity and moisture of the concrete slab. The same tools are needed for inspections, when moisture problems have occurred.
1. Pinless mode: materials can be checked fast and easy, scanning along the surface.
2. In-situ probe testing: Included are standard accessories for in-situ moisture testing of concrete slabs.
3. Thermo-Hygrometer mode: With RH BluePeg probe and RH adapter, the DuoTec BW can be used as a precision, fast-acting thermo-hygrometer.

The Ligno-DuoTec BW meter with RH probe measures moisture in wood and many other materials and the relative humidity of air. These two measurements are set into relation with each other in the EMC table, which shows values for stable conditions of wood moisture and relative humidity. The table can be used for materials other than wood, when the wood moisture equivalent is known.
The Ligno-DuoTec BW is a dual-depth, pinless meter and a thermo-hygrometer. It has a wide measuring range with 90 correction settings for measuring domestic and tropical wood species, bamboo, subfloors and engineered flooring products, gypsum and different types of wall boards. Relative scales are included for concrete (ASTM F2659), cementitious materials and different types of panel products

A connector for RH cables or RH adapter is installed in the top of the meter.
The 3.5mm stereo connector gives a fail-proof, easy connection.
To activate the RH mode, connect RH BluePeg probe with RH-CC cable or RH adapter into the top of the meter.
Two measuring plates for pinless dual-depth mode are mounted on the back of the meter.
Pinless Measurements
Lignomat’s unique pinless measuring technology assures calibration accuracy, reliability and dual-depth measuring capability, measuring depth 1/4″ and 3/4″. The meter indicates wood moisture in percent, corrected for 150 different settings. Specific gravity can also be entered to correct for different wood species, settings between 30-100 (0.3 – 1.0). Comparative readings can be obtained for all other moisture sensitive materials. Concrete can be measured in scan mode with setting #25 following ASTM 2659.
A pinless advantage: Pinless meters from Lignomat measure lower moisture contents than pin meters. A feature specifically valued by the flooring industry in areas with low relative humidity and high desert climate zones. Which makes this a great flooring installer moisture meter.
In-situ probe testing of concrete
The BW-KS package contains accessories needed for RH testing: 1 RH Bluepeg probe (option 5 or 10 RH probes), 10 sleeves with caps, 1 RH-CC cable and 1 brush (drill bit is not included). Design of equipment and test procedure are governed by the ASTM standard F2170. Lignomat’s RH BluePeg system complies with the latest F2170 standard. A must have for a flooring installer moisture meter when laying over a concrete floor.
After drilling, cleaning and setting the sleeve, the RH BluePeg probe easily drops into the sleeve. The cap fits perfectly and is as flat as can be. The cable connection is provided by a simple, fail-proof 3.5mm stereo plug. No pin alignment of the cable needs to be fitted and no set-up of the meter is necessary. The meter switches into RH mode as soon as an RH cable is connected. Plug in and read, that’s what our customers like.
The display shows the measured value and the RH Probe number. The RH probe number is an individual number 1-999 to allow keeping track of probe location during testing, measurements and performance.

Thermo-Hygrometer
To activate the RH thermo-hygrometer mode, plug the RH Adapter into the RH BluePeg probe, next the RH Adapter can be plugged into the stereo connector at the top of the meter. Instead of using the Adapter RH, the 6 ft RH-CC cable included in the package can be used for remote measurements (any stereo cable could be used).
As soon as the connection is established, the Ligno-DuoTec BW is in RH mode. When the READ button is depressed, the meter immediately indicates the relative humidity. The up or down keys allow recalling the values for ambient Temperature, Dew Point Temperature and Grains Per Pound.

T: +/- 0.5°F (32-120°F) , +/- 1°F (5-32°F and 120-160°F) Response time 8 sec.
Resolution for RH and T: 0.1% and 0.1°.
Options: If you want to obtain pin measurements choose one of the VersaTec packages (pin – pinless – RH):
- .Choose package V2-KM with depth electrode E12 for wood, wood floors and other wood products up to 2″ deep.
- Choose package V4-KS with inspection electrode E14-V for assessing moisture conditions in walls, ceilings, roofs… ,
- Choose package V24-KM with both electrodes E12 and E14-V,
- Choose the Ligno-VersaTec package V-KS and add the concrete electrode E16 to obtain instant concrete measurements up to 7″.
