Product Description
Tracker MC/RH Package
Package contains everything needed for data logging moisture in wood, drywall, brick, other moisture-absorbing materials as well as, relative humidity, ambient temperature, DPT, GPP and EMC measurements. Detachable cables allow installation of moisture probes and RH probe in remote locations for in-wall and in-depth measurements.
The Tracker MC/RH package consists of:
- Tracker MC/RH module
- Memo-Chip BL2 module
- RH Thermo-Hygro probe
- 1 RH cable to connect RH Probe
- 1 RH cable to connect Tracker to BL2
- 3 LP-mini cables 3ft
- 3 Sets of stainless steel screws 3/4″
Data Logging and monitoring
Tracker and BL2 are the main components: The Tracker MC/RH module measures and monitors moisture and relative humidity and the Memo-Chip BL2 module saves the measurements. Also included is one relative humidity probe RH BluePeg and three sets of screws with cables for measuring moisture in wood and other materials. If screws are not usable for the application, we offer a wide variety of pins and wood probes with the necessary cables to connect to the Tracker (See Screws, Pins, Probes and Cables below)
- Probes, pins, screws and RH BluePeg probe have to be installed and connected to the Tracker.
- The Memo-Chip BL2 has to be set up for a test series (download BL2 application) and connected to the Tracker.
- Recording starts, once the BL2 is connected to the Tracker
At pre-set time intervals, the BL2 initiates and saves measurements from all measuring stations connected to the Tracker. The BL2 can save up to 32,000 sets of RH and MC measurements with a date and time stamp.
To download the measurements, the BL2 has to be disconnected from the Tracker and connected to a PC or tablet. The Tracker and all cables can be left in place while the BL2 is disconnected to review data on the PC. After reconnecting the BL2 to the Tracker, recording will proceed automatically adding measurements to the same log or a new log can be started.
This 2-module system with BL2 and Tracker allows for installing probes, cables and the Tracker permanently while allowing the convenience of leaving the BL2 in an easy-to-retrieve location for intermittent data retrieval. Upon request, the RH cable between Tracker and BL2 can be custom cut longer than 6 feet to allow the Tracker to be placed in a location far away from the BL2. The RH cable, which is included in the package to connect Tracker and BL2, is a standard stereo cable 6ft with 3.5mm plugs.
Moisture Measurements
Tracker MC/RH can measure and monitor moisture in wood, drywall and other hygroscopic materials. Accuracy of measurements is comparable with the most advanced moisture meter from Lignomat, the Ligno-VersaTec.
Measuring range for wood moisture: 5-99.9% dependent upon species
Tracker has a built-in temperature probe for wood temperature corrections.
Final moisture values, which appear in graph and log on PC are corrected for:
- wood temperature as measured by the Tracker
- wood species as selected when the BL2 is set up for the test
- drywall settings and reference scales as selected when the BL2 is set up for the test
Other materials can be measures with the MC Tracker also, even if there is no specific calibration available for the material to be measured. Using the relative scales programmed in the Tracker, it becomes very obvious when looking at the graph and the log, if and how fast the moisture has been changing.
Resolution: 0.1 for all values
Screws, Pins, Probes and Cables
3 sets of stainless steel screws and 3 LP-mini cables 3 ft long are included in the Tracker MC/RH Package.
Options:
Instead of stainless steel screws, pins and wood probes can be used
EG pins, teflon-coated with 3/4″ depth
EL pins, teflon-coated with up to 7″ depth, adjustable to any length required between 1/2″ to 7″
LP-mini cables are used to connect pins EG and EL to the Tracker. LP-mini cables have loops on one end to connect pins and 2mm plugs on the other end to connect the Tracker. Loop nuts are required to hold the cable loops in place and assure a solid connection between cables and pins.
PK wood probes, teflon-coated for 1/2″ to 2 3/4″ measuring depth. Recommended for wood thicker than 3/4″. PK-mini cables are used to connect PK probes to the Tracker. PK-mini cables have 4mm plugs on one end to connect PK wood probes and 2mm plugs on the other end to connect to the Tracker.
All cables are made in-house at Lignomat, therefore we can supply shorter and longer cables upon request. Ask Customer Service at 1-800-227-2105 for a quote.
Humidity Measurements
The RH BluePeg probe with RH adapter and a RH cable is included to measure humidity and temperature. The RH BluePeg probe comes with a precision, reliable, fast-responding RH/T sensing element. Using the RH cable allows for in-wall, in-depth monitoring. Standard cable length is 6 ft, we custom make RH cables (stereo cables) for any length up to 75 ft.
RH Probe: Diameter 0.5″, length 1.4″ (13mm x 36mm)
RH: ±2% (10-90%), ±3% below 10%, above 90%
T: ±0.5°F (32-120°F) , ±1°F (5-32°F and 120-160°F) Response time 8 sec.
Resolution for RH and T: 0.1% and 0.1°
Graph and logs also show Dew Point Temperature, Grains per Pound and EMC
RH BluePeg probe is also used for in-situ measurements of concrete moisture.
Note: Off-the-shelf thermo-hygrometers and data loggers usually come with an accuracy rating of ±5% for relative humidity and ±2°F for temperature.
