Product Description

The PK-mini cables are used to make the connection between PK Probes in the wood and mini-Lignos DX/C, S/DC, MD/C and the MC Tracker. The PK-mini cable is made with a teflon-insulated cable, which consists of a pair of twisted, shielded wires. The teflon-cable can withstand hot and humid conditions in a dry kiln. The cable is temperature-rated for over 240°F (115°C). In addition, the cable was selected for its ability to accurately transfer measured values from the PK Probes inside the kiln to the meter.

The cable has two 4mm and two 2mm plugs. The end with 4mm plugs fits into the PK wood probes and the other end with 2mm plugs fits into the mini-Ligno C moisture meters and the MC Tracker.

PK-mini cables come in a standard length of 6ft (1.8m). As an option you can choose 12ft (3.6m) or 18ft (5.4m).
Upon request we custom-cut shorter or longer cables.

E-mini extension cables can be added, if PK-mini cables or too short or an in-between connect-disconnect junction point would make handling longer cables easier.

The PK-mini cable connects PK probes to:

mini-Ligno DX/C
— mini-Ligno S/DC
— mini-Ligno MD/C
— MC Tracker

If a cable is needed to connect the PK wood probes to a Ligno-VersaTec or Lignometer K (Adapter H), angle connector or station-plate (in-kiln monitor), click here to order the PK-H cables.

If you want to check the performance of the cable, connect the cable but not the PK probes to the meter and push the on-button. The lowest possible value should appear on the meter, which means the cable does not add a measurable value even in the low measuring range. To check continuity of the cable, put the split ends in your hand and close your fist over the plugs without the ends touching each other. Then, take a reading. The indicated value should be over 12%.
