Package RH-KS

Applications

Before installing resilient floor coverings, the floor covering industry recommends testing the moisture in concrete slabs to avoid floor covering failures. Lignomat’s precision BluePeg probes for the in-situ concrete test are re-usable. The Lignomat RH system complies to the latest ASTM standard F2170.

Advantages

The Ligno-Tec RH meter is the right choice, if you have all pin and pinless moisture meters you need or if you are a concrete contractor who does not need pin or pinless meters for wood or concrete.  The Ligno-Tec delivers absolute reliability for many years of usage. It is your best choice for a RH-only meter.

Product Description

Package RH-KS

The RH-KS package is used to determine relative humidity in concrete floor slabs using in-situ probes (ASTM F2170). This method is recommended by many floor manufacturers to decide whether or not it is safe to install resilient and textile floor coverings and coatings. The Ligno-Tec RH meter, reusable RH BluePeg Probes, sleeves and cable comply with latest ASTM F2170 standard for a simple and fail-proof procedure for concrete moisture testing.

The package RH-KS consists of:

The Ligno-Tec RH meter measures:
– relative humidity (RH)
– ambient temperature (Temp)
– dew point temperature (DewT)
– grains per pound (GPP)

1. In-situ probe testing of concrete:
The RH-KS package contains accessories needed for RH testing: 1 RH Bluepeg probe, 10 sleeves with caps, 1 RH-CC cable and 1 brush (drill bit is not included). Lignomat’s RH BluePeg system complies with the latest ASTM F2170 standard.

After drilling, cleaning and setting the sleeve, the RH BluePeg probe easily drops into the sleeve. The cap fits perfectly and is as flat as can be. The cable connection is provided by a simple, fail-proof 3.5mm stereo plug. No pin alignment of the cable needs to be fitted and no set-up of the meter is necessary. The meter switches into RH mode as soon as an RH cable is connected. Plug in and read, that’s what our customers like.

The display shows the measured RH and temperature value and the RH probe number. The RH probe number is an individual number 1-999 to allow keeping track of probe measurements and probe location during testing.

Lignomat offers 1.8″ and 3″ long sleeves.
Contact customer service (800-227-2105) for extension of 3″ sleeves.

2. Thermo-Hygrometer
Relative humidity in air affects moisture in wood and building materials. The relationship between the two parameters humidity and wood moisture is described in the EMC table, which shows values for stable conditions. Measuring relative humidity is the first step to prevent moisture problems.

To activate the RH thermo-hygrometer mode, plug the RH Adapter into the RH BluePeg probe, next the RH Adapter can be plugged into the stereo connector at the top of the meter. Instead of using the Adapter RH, the 6 ft RH-CC cable included in the package can be used for remote measurements (any stereo cable could be used).

As soon as the connection is established, the Ligno-Tec RH works as a thermo-hygrometer. When the READ button is depressed, the meter immediately indicates the relative humidity. The up or down keys allow recalling the values for ambient temperature, dew Point temperature and grains per pound (RH, Temp, DewPT, GPP). The display indicates the measured values and the RH Probe number. The RH probe number is an individual 3-digit number to allow keeping track of probe measurements and performance.

RH Adapters and Cables
The Adapter comes with 3.5mm stereo plugs (male) on both ends to connect Lignomat’s RH BluePeg Probe directly to the Ligno-DuoTec BW. A RH cable 6 ft for remote measurements is included with the package RH-KS. The cable is used when the probe at the meter cannot reach the area or when the display cannot be seen, while measuring a tight spot. Upon request we make longer RH cables.

The distance from the top of the meter to the end of the probe is 2.25″ including the RH adapter. If that is too short to reach into heat ducts, walls and other small crevices, the shaft of the probe can be extended with the RH depth adapter.
