Ligno-Tec RH

The Ligno-Tec RH can be used with a fast-responding, precision RH BluePeg probe or with accessories for RH in-situ moisture testing of concrete (ASTM F2170). The Ligno-Tec RH meter indicates ambient relative humidity and temperature, DPT and GPP.

Thermo-Hygrometer: If you are looking for a high-accuracy Thermo-Hygrometer with a short acclimation time, the Ligno-Tec RH should be your choice. The RH probe is detachable and its reach can be extended with a cable up to 50ft long.

Moisture testing in concrete with in-situ RH probes: The Ligno-Tec RH meter, reusable RH BluePeg Probes, sleeves and cable are designed to comply with latest ASTM F2170 standard for a simple and fail-proof concrete moisture testing procedure.

We recommend the Ligno-Tec RH for concrete contractors, who only need the meter for in-situ probe testing. Choose Ligno-DuoTec BW or  Ligno-VersaTec, if you also need moisture measurements in wood, concrete and other building materials.

Product Description

Applications for Ligno-Tec RH:
– Meter can be used as thermo-hygrometer with RH BluePeg probe
– Meter can be used for in-situ RH concrete testing with probes, cable, sleeves.
Complies with ASTM F2170 standard.

The Ligno-Tec RH meter functions as an RH meter or a thermo-hygrometer, when the RH BluePeg probe is connected. The RH BluePeg probe uses a single micro-chip sensing element, factory calibrated to NIST standard. The sensing elements were chosen for their precision and fast response time.

The Ligno-Tec RH meter measures and indicates:
– RH: relative humidity
– Temp: ambient temperature
– GPP: grains per pound
– DewP: dew point temperature
– #: RH probes have individual 3-digit numbers

Thermometer Usage: The Ligno-Tec RH meter has a 3.5mm stereo connector (jack) mounted in the top of the meter, where the RH probe has to be connected. The connection is made via the RH adapter or the RH cable for remote measurements. If the reach of the probe has to be extended further, longer cables are available. The RH depth-adapter can be used to extend the length of the RH probe.

Relative humidity has become an important factor when dealing with buildings and furnishings in those buildings as well as health and comfort of people living and working there.

The relationship between relative humidity and wood moisture can be found in the EMC Table. The table gives important information for anyone concerned about wood moisture either as a woodworker, cabinet maker, floor installer or restoration specialist.

Note, when using the Ligno-Tec RH as a thermo-hygrometer, the accuracy rating of the RH BluePeg probe with +/-2% is far above over-the-counter thermo-hygrometers, which are usually rated at +/-5% or higher.

In-Situ Concrete Moisture Testing: RH BluePeg probes, sleeves and RH-CC cable is needed for in-situ concrete moisture testing. Lignomat’s BluePeg system complies with ASTM F2170 standard.

Advantages: The RH BluePeg probe drops easily into the sleeve. The cap fits perfectly and is as flat as can be. The 3.5mm stereo connector can be easily connected. No pin alignment of the cable needs to be fitted. Plug in and read, that’s what our customers like. All Lignomat RH equipment complies to the latest ASTM F2170 standard for RH in-situp probe.
Order as package RH-KS.

The Package RH-KS consists of the LignoTec RH, RH BluePeg probe, RH-CC cable, 10 RH Sleeves and cleaning brush and a carrying case (pouch is also available). The Ligno-Tec RH was designed for reliability and accuracy as well as sturdiness and ease of operation. The instruments have proven to perform well in rough mill environments with day-to-day usage.

Another application: Measuring light-weight materials, insulation, etc.

Solid materials are measured with pin or pinless meters. It gets more complicated when light-weight materials have to be measured. Pin and pinless meters will only give the default reading “zero” even if the material is wet. There is not enough material to make a measurable electrical connection between the two pins. RH probes can be used to measure the evaporation from those materials as a measure of humidity in the material.

Closing up the space around the material and putting a RH probe inside allows measuring the evaporation from the material, which relates to the moisture level in the material. For instance, if you needed to measure insulation behind a wall, you could stick the RH probe behind the wall, cover the opening with a sleeve and read the RH of the air surrounding the insulation.
