mini-Ligno Moisture Meters
The mini-Ligno series is Lignomat’s range of compact, hand-held pin moisture meters. Every model reads moisture content by driving two pins into the material and measuring electrical resistance, and every one is built to be carried in a pocket and used one-handed on a jobsite, in a shop or on a delivery.
The models differ in three ways: how wide a measuring range they cover, which materials they are calibrated for, and whether they accept external electrodes for in-depth or hard-to-reach readings. Use the summaries below to narrow the choice, then open a model for its full specification.
Wood moisture meters
mini-Ligno MD
Lignomat quality at its best price. Measures from 6% to 25% moisture content — low enough for woodworking and flooring, high enough to catch stock that is not ready to work. The straightforward choice if you only measure wood.
mini-Ligno MD/C
The same 6–25% range as the MD, indicated in 1% steps, with two wood groups built in for softwoods and hardwoods. Adds a connection for external probes alongside the built-in pins, so you can reach into thicker stock or awkward corners.
mini-Ligno E/D
A compact, rugged meter with a much wider range — 6% to 45%. That upper reach makes it suitable for green and freshly sawn timber as well as dry stock, in a shop, at home or in an industrial setting.
Wood and building material meters
mini-Ligno S/D
Measures both wood and building materials, which makes it the usual choice for home inspectors, floor installers, architects, contractors, painters and homeowners working across mixed substrates.
mini-Ligno S/DC
Set up to measure wood and panel products as well as drywall, gypsum and other building materials. That dual purpose is why it turns up regularly in flooring, construction and restoration work.

The most versatile meter in the series. Built for woodworkers, floor installers, inspectors and restoration specialists who need reliable readings across a range of different materials rather than one.
mini-Ligno DX/C
Suits anyone working with a variety of wood species, panel products and building materials. Widely used in flooring and woodworking, and the model to choose if species correction across many woods matters to your readings.
Pins and accessories
All mini-Ligno meters use replaceable pins, which are a wear item — bent or corroded pins are the most common cause of an inconsistent reading. Replacement pins for mini-Lignos are stocked, and the models with a /C designation also accept Lignomat’s external electrodes and cables.
