Product Description
The PK-H wood probe cables are used to connect PK probes to Ligno-VersaTec, Lignometer K and in-kiln station-plate and angle connectors.
The PK-H cable is made with a teflon-insulated cable, which consists of a pair of twisted, shielded wires. The cable withstands hot and humid conditions in a dry kiln. The cable is temperature-rated for over 240°F (115°C). In addition, the cable was selected for its ability to accurately transfer measured values from the PK Probes inside a kiln to the meter.
The cable has 4mm plugs on each end. The plugs fit the PK probes on one end and the adapter H, switch box or angle connector on the other end. In order to connect the split end of the PK-H cable to the moisture meter Lignometer K and Ligno-VersaTec the adapter H is needed.
PK-H cables come in a standard length 6ft (1.8m). As an option you can choose 6ft (1.8m), 12ft (3.6m) or 18ft (5.4m).
Upon request we custom-cut shorter or longer cables.
E-H extension cables can be added, if PK-H cables or too short or an in-between connect-disconnect junction point would make handling longer cables easier.
PK-H cable connects PK wood probes using adapter H to:
— Ligno-VersaTec
— Lignometer K
PK-H cables are also used to connect PK wood probes inside a kiln to a
— station plate
— angle connector
mounted at the wall of the kiln.
If a cable is needed to connect the PK probes to a mini-Ligno DX/C, S/DC, MD/C, click here to order the PK-mini cable. The adaptor H is not needed to connect to a mini-Ligno C’ model.
The PK-H cables use gold-plated banana plugs to prohibit degrade in the kiln. Lignomat also offers cables with stainless steel plugs, call for up-grade to stainless steel plugs.
If you want to check the performance of the cable, connect the cable but not the PK probes to the meter and push READ. The lowest possible value with “Min” should appear on the meter, which means the cable does not add a measurable value even in the low measuring range. To check continuity of the cable, put the split ends in your hand and close your fist over the plugs without the ends touching each other. Then, take a reading. The indicated value should be over 12%.
