Package K6-S

Used for measuring hard building materials, concrete, brick, tile, stone, grout, etc. For deep measurements the teflon-coated EL pins can be added.

Lignometer K is Lignomat’s most advanced pin meter with the widest moisture range and individual correction settings for domestic and tropical wood species, wood composite panels and drywall as well as reference scales to measure concrete, brick, stone, laminates, carpets, and other moisture sensitive materials. Delivers outstanding reliability, great measuring accuracy and stable calibrations.

Electrode E16 has two separate, single pin posts, which makes it easier than using a one-piece electrode to insert pins into hard materials and hard-to-reach areas. Also allows to increase and decrease the distance between the pins. Using the E16 gives instant results when measuring moisture levels in concrete.

Lignometer K is the most advanced meter among Lignomat’s pin moisture meters. Features are the wide moisture range and more than 170 correction settings for measuring domestic and tropical wood species, OSB and other panel products, bamboo, gypsum and different types of wall boards.

Relative scales are included for concrete, cementitious materials, plastics, insulation…

A BNC connector for cables from electrodes E12, E14, E16 and cables to monitor critical areas (Adapter H) is installed at the top of the meter.

Calibration Stability: The Lignometer K has proven to be a trustworthy moisture meter. The circuitry has been designed to be stable in extreme ambient conditions. The calibration is checked before each measurement and if necessary, automatically adjusted. These “background checks” before measurements assure calibration consistency for every reading for Lignomat’s K moisture meter. Manual re-calibration by the customer is not necessary. Lignomat offers an external calibration check block TP to confirm the accuracy of the meter.

Electrode E16The electrode E16 with EC pins. is mainly used to measure hard building materials, such as concrete slabs, brick walls, tile. The electrode can be also used when the distance or the angle between the 2 measuring pins need to be changed. Standard distance between pins is 1 1/4″.

The electrode E16 consists of two separate posts. Each post is 2″ long with a ball head. The cable is connected through a hole in the post using a 4mm banana plug. The bottom of the posts have threads for the pins. An assortment of pins is available with lengths from 3/16″ to 7″ (Pins EG, EL and EC, EA, EV). Tapping on top of the ball head with a mallet or hammer will drive pins into the material. Pre-drilling holes maybe required for deeper measurements.

We recommend a distance of 4″ (10cm) between the pins for measuring cementitious materials including concrete. Cementitious materials have a very low electrical resistance compared to wood and tend to give high values, therefore changing the distance allows a wider moisture range.

Measurements obtained from concrete or cementitious materials are not true percent values. They only can be used as reference numbers or comparative readings. Comparative measurements become meaningful, when a dry (wet) sample piece of the material is available. Measurements can then be compared to the moisture value for dry (wet).

Using the Lignometer K moisture meter with the Electrode E16 gives immediate results when measuring concrete. The measurements can show areas of high and low moisture up to a depth where the longest insulated pins (for 0ver 7″ depth insulated nails can be used). If measurements are taken with the EL pins at different depth levels, the moisture profile of the slab becomes obvious. However, it cannot replace the in-situ probe test or the Calcium-Chloride test which allow to determine, if a wood floor can be installed.

Available pins for E16:
EG pins teflon coated, measuring depth 3/4″
EL pins teflon coated, measuring depth 7″
EC 5/8″, EA 7/16″, EV 3/16″, un-coated

EC pins are included in package K6-S.

Add-ons for K6-S package:
– Pins #EL 7″ for E1
– Inspector Electrode E14-V
– Slide-Hammer Electrode E12
