LP-H Cable

The LP-H cables are used to connect EG pins, EL pins and stainless steel screws via adapter H to the moisture meters:

— Lignometer K
— Ligno-VersaTec

Easiest and simplest monitoring system for leak surveillance and water damage repair, monitors hard-to-reach places such as roof trusses, ceilings, crawl spaces, flooring, drywall and structural wood behind drywall.

LP-H cables come in a standard length of 6ft (1.8m). As an option you can choose 3ft (0.9m), 12ft (3.6m) or 18ft (5.4m). Longer cables are available upon request.

LP-H cables are also used with EMC holders and angle connectors to measure humidity (EMC) in dry kilns or ambient conditions in storage areas and wood working places.

Product Description

The LP-H cables have two 4mm banana plugs on one end and two loops on the other end.

The LP-H cables allow for using EL pins and EG pins or stainless steel screws to measure moisture in wood and other solid materials directly with the Ligno-VersaTec and Lignometer K (Adapter H).  The EL pins are especially suited for monitoring in depth, they can be shortened to any length between 7″ and 1/2″. This could be used for monitoring moisture content in timbers, logs, wooden beams at different depth levels or for monitoring restoration projects or building maintenance. LP-H cables are also used to connect angle connectors to the VersaTec and Lignometer, see below.

Connectors: The 4mm banana plugs connect via adapter H to the moisture meters Ligno-VersaTec and Lignometer K.

  • Loops: The loops fit around the stainless steel screws and pins.
    — teflon-coated pins EG 3/4″, EL 1/2″ to 7″
    — un-coated pins EC 5/8″, EB 1/2″, EV 3/16″
    — stainless steel screws
    When pins are used, the cable needs to be secured by the Loop Nuts (order separately).
    The loop cables cannot be used with DZ, DA, DB pins (pins for electrode E12).
  • Loops: LP-H cables with loops are also needed to connect an angle connector to the Ligno-VersaTec or Lignometer K. In most cases the angle connector is used together with an EMC holder to measure humidity (EMC) in dry kilns or ambient conditions in storage areas and wood working places.

The LP-H cable is made with a pair of teflon-insulated, twisted, shielded wires. The cable can withstand hot, cold and wet conditions. It is temperature-rated for over 240°F (115°C). In addition, the cable was selected for its ability to accurately transfer measured values from the pins to the meter.

If you want to check the performance of the cable, connect the cable but not the pins or screws to the meter and push READ. The lowest possible value with “Min” should appear on the meter, which means the cable does not add a measurable value even in the low measuring range. To check continuity of the cable, put the loop ends in your hand and close your fist over the loops without the ends touching each other. Then, take a reading. The indicated value should be over 12%.
