The Slide Hammer Pulling Tool is a tool used to place and remove all types of PK Probes for core moisture measurements. Built specifically for easy and fast handling of larger quantities of PK Probes.
For Probe Installation:
The Slide Hammer Pulling Tool is fitted over the hexagonal top of the PK Probe and with the slide hammer, drives the PK Probe into the desired material correctly. When taking wood core moisture measurements, the head of the PK Probes is not supposed to touch the lumber and possibly prevent drying in the area where the probes are measuring. The pulling tool ensures that the head of the PK probe is placed correctly.
For Probe Removal:
When PK Probes are ready to be removed, the pulling tool is placed over the PK Probe and the pin is threaded through the Pulling Tool and PK Probe. The slide hammer can then be used to easily remove PK Probes from wood.
The Slide Hammer Pulling Tool is designed for larger quantity installation and removal of PK Probes. For smaller quantity installation and removal of PK Probes, Lignomat offers a Pulling Tool without the slide hammer. For all applications to set and remove PK probes we recommend using the Pulling Tool either with or without the slide hammer for correctly placing and easily removing the probes.
